MERIDIONAL contributes to the effective implementation of humanitarian, human rights, sustainable development, and other multilateral commitments.

We achieved this by providing tailored guidance, technical support and capacity development programmes to civil society organisations and Permanent Missions in Geneva.

Our work extends beyond direct support, we actively engage in joint outreach initiatives within International Geneva’s multilateral institutions, nurturing collaboration among governments, intergovernmental and non-governmental actors.

With non-governmental organisations

● Supporting strategic and operational planning
● Constructing institutional and governance frameworks
● Promoting existing commitments on equity, diversity, and fairness as adopted in multilateralism and international law
● Developing advocacy capacity

With governments

● Providing technical support and advice to Permanent Missions in Geneva

With governments, intergovernmental and civil society organisations, and business sector representatives

● Engaging in the development and participation of joint activities in International Geneva to enhance visibility and provide analysis on emerging issues, as well as facilitating the implementation of existing commitments in multilateral diplomacy
● Raising awareness and providing guidance on the importance of civil society advocacy through low profile outreach

With the academic community

● Collaborating with academic institutions to engage university students in MERIDIONAL through internship opportunities
● Providing training sessions on advocacy within the multilateral space
